Pat Kociolek  has be appointed as the new North American Editor of Diatom Research for the period of 2007-2011. Pat is the Hanna Chair in Diatom Studies at the California Academy of Sciences, and has published over 130 peer-review articles and edited 5 books. He is also the co-editor of Bibliotheca Diatomologica.
